Las Lomas farm is situated in Cantón Zacatal, within the El Congo region of El Salvador, an area steeped in the country’s rich coffee-growing heritage. The farm, since 1957 benefits from the fertile volcanic soils of the Santa Ana region, one of the most productive coffee-growing zones in the country. Despite its small size, El Salvador plays a significant role in the global coffee industry, particularly through its high-altitude farms that produce world-renowned specialty coffees.
The varietals cultivated in this region, such as Bourbon, and Pacas, thrive in the mineral-rich volcanic soils. These beans are celebrated for their vibrant acidity and balanced flavors, which often feature notes of Cheerios, Tangerine, and Milk Chocolate – a subtle sweetness. The region’s volcanic microclimates and equatorial weather provide ideal conditions for producing exceptional coffee. Fairtrade coffee farming in Cantón Zacatal also supports the local economy, with many smallholder farmers contributing to the area’s production. Our customers look forward to this coffee.
